We followed the advice of Ferraguida's nose (review Aug 2011) and were not disappointed. This is a traditional painted guesthouse, in a quiet, charming village. The interior walls are decorated with fairytale-like scenes from Russia, India and elsewhere. We would have liked to know more of the history but we did not have enough German to decypher the explanatory leaflet. The local fare came with generous portions and courteous service. We had schnitzels (pork, not veal) and salads. DOG-OWNERS: our dog was welcomed indoors and was immediately presented with a water bowl and a serving of treats.
We already ate in this restaurant. Was always really good overall. This time it was, yes, only average. We call it now the 4 xSO restaurant (so in German is a word for, say now (what do you want... . The menu lists were compiled on the table. so. waited a while, no one was present, the waiter cleaned glasses, dishes.. Did you choose anything? Meals and drinks were brought. Note: so. After I finished our meals, I asked a lady who seemed to be the owner for the bill. The server arrived. Remark: so you want to pay. We never heard the good Bye who might have been muttered or not at all
We had a party of 8 for dinner here booked by our German hosts The restaurant was friendly and we got a very good greeting Very efficient service with drinks order and menus we delivered our culinary experiences The food was well presented and the taste was a hit steaks cooked and ready for perfection as well as brat cheeks, each of us had an excellent delicious meal, not a moan over everything! Would definitely recommend eating there and hopefully we will be back next year
This restaurant is located in a beautiful city in the black forest and very well cured in an old building. Inside there are paintings on every wall and an atmosphere both elegant and cozy. the owners are very nice and helpful and the food is delicious. the bill is not cheap, but given the place and quality it is definitely worth a visit.
