I really liked the feel of this restaurant. The dark interior reminded me of a neighbourhood pub while the patio out back was secluded and peaceful. Welcoming and attentive staff. The menu is standard biergarten food and drink. They had two alcohol free beers by the bottle in addition to regular. I got a Tucher Reifbräu alcohol free. It was okay easy to drink but too light for my taste (I 've had richer alcohol free beers so I know that 's not it). Fun to try though. The dish I got was Fried camembert with salads, cranberry, and bread . I think this would have been appropriate to share between two people if it were paired with an appetizer the cheese was actually not as heavy as I expected,...

We decided to stop here for lunch after reading all the Yelp reviews and, I must say it was a tad disappointing. It was empty when we arrived, but then again it was past peak lunchtime. They were quick to seat us and take orders. The menu here is pretty extensive and boasts of Frankische cuisine. I had to order the schäufele which is a roasted pork shoulder on the bone, a classic dish in this area. Unfortunately it was a bit dry and the gravy lacked a punch. The knödle that came with it was also a bit soggy. The crackling was ok and I have had much better ones in other places before. If you can't do pork perfectly in Bavaria then you have a slight problem ; Service here is friendly and the d...

This is a review of the restaurant only. My husband and I had dinner at the Goldener Greifen on May 19. We had studied the menu in advance, and the selections were exactly what we were looking for. We were not disappointed! We had made reservations and were promptly seated. We really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant. My husband ordered the Greifendunkel beer which is a dark beer. He liked it a lot! For an appetizer, I ordered the Gulaschsuppe which was perfect. I ordered the pair of Frankische Bratwurst with salted potatoes. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel filled with Camembert and ham. For dessert my husband had the Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce, and I had the Schokoladensouff...

Great little place in town to eat traditional German cuisine. The courtyard in the back is really cute during the day. However, lots of smokers to stink up the beautiful yard. We ordered the pork shoulder with potato dumplings and side of cabbage, pork schnitzel with fries, and potato gratin with strips of beef and spring onions. Food was delicious. The pork had crispy skin and a flavorful sauce. The dumplings had a springy texture. Food is freshly made and the beers are very reasonably priced. All the food and beers for 3 costed only €55.
