gengenbach is a beautiful small town in the Black Forest and looks like a Disney movie - all houses beautifully maintained, everywhere flowers with the entrance to the city over a torbogen under a tower. the hotel is located in a small road leading to the torbogen, and we spent two nights in this attractive, small, family-run hotel and were thrilled. friendly service, a very comfortable room - not huge, but recently renovated, with a beautiful, large modern bathroom with shower, a lot of space to hang up and a very comfortable bed. we had an excellent dinner after the recommendations of the chef in the beautiful restaurant, and the breakfast buffet was rich, varied and beautifully presented....
beautiful solution, typical house, excellent breakfast, there are also smoked salmon, I had a good dinner and spent it like in other restaurants. the only particular thing is that when they arrive before 16.30 clock they find it closed, but a sheet in three languages, not in Italian, declares that in the briefcase they find a envelope with their name and their room number, they go in and they are home. ah, there is no elevator, they take the stairs with their luggage, and yet a tipp, they do not take the single room because it is microscopically small and they can have a minimum difference double single use. for the rest I would return
impressive. easy wow. I'm just back from a high-end vacation where we were often in restaurants with Michelin stars. they were of course excellent - but brain was better. much cheaper. the “Hirsch” is designed as a jagdlock and it was perhaps once, although it lies within the walls of gengenbach. like everything in this picturesque city, it is old, but thoroughly modernized. of course impeccable and extremely comfortable. the food was perfect. I had pork; my wife had wildbret. absolutely spectacular. also the hausriesling was first-class. what a food.
we had some local things, please ask them always what is the fresh menu of the day, they speak English and they will tell them the best that comes fresh from the kitchen. you can't be wrong. it has been a family business for a long time and this family is good. the vater is a great cook and the young people make all possible events. excellent restaurant with tradition.

excellent kitchen, without a sneaky, honest, grounded and best quality and choice. a restaurant a little off the tourist routes, but it is worth it. the service very nice, professional and fast. recommend the fresh forellen and the bark bäckle, as well as a wine from the extensive wine map of the region.
a friend and I ate here during the asparagus season. I had shiny with black woods and black forests; my vegetarian friend had a sweetheart with a spade. we both enjoyed our meal very much. some basic German skills are helpful here, but not absolutely necessary. the service was excellent.
we had a nice dinner in this restaurant. the environment is quite romantic and not so many people in this restaurant. we ordered calf meat and trout dish. the waiter can steal the fish from us. as dessert there are black forests eistorte. it was lovely.
we are unfortunately coming too rarely in the brain, although we have never been disappointed in the last 14 years.Our tastes especially the Baden specialties.The poorbrusters are lovely hosts and the athmosphere is very pleasant.
