"In coming to Alpbach for 32 years I have been to this restuarnt hundreds of times. The food is still ok but it has the worst service in the Alpbach valley. It's unfriendly, not welcoming of children and has an unpleasant atmosphere. The day we were there even one of the local ski instructors told the staff he would never bring clients there again. Such ashame that it's not like it used to be."

We explored many of the recommended restaurants in the Alpbach during our stay and this as quite clearly THE best. Great menu...great kitchen...great waiters & great prices.Our (Estonian) waitress couldn't have been more helpful in guiding us through the menu.For starters I had a wonderful and unique Austrian blue cheese soup....my partner had a beef consomme containing shredded pancake (highly recommended). Then for mains I had Chicken Saltimbocca (grilled breast of chicken filled with parma ham & sage on a tomato ragout. Visited Widersbergerhorn Again after years of absence. It was very nice, and in the summertime there is a large outdoor terrace. Nice and very welcome in the present heat wave.The menu has of course evolved, but there is still a veneration for Classic Austrian dishes. Very nice. Keep the local kitchen.The Bio wave is very remarkable, and all dishes are marked with composition. Great for allegic peopleThe dishes now have a touch of access to different Salads, wide use of local, season choices of veal, lam, spices and so on.Service was just perfect and value for Money is good.
We called in at this restaurant for a drink whilst out walking and were impressed with the menu so went back for dinner the following day. The restaurant itself is fairly large - but is arranged so as to feel quite intimate. Service is very friendly and helpful - and the menu whilst offering the usual Austrian suspects also featured different more adventurous dishes. The food was beautifully cooked, presented and served. We will definitely go back next year.
Be sure to book as the quality ensures it is always popular. A short walk from the Inner Alpbach gondola means you can use this as a lunch break in your skiing day or just make the lunch the focus of the day. The food is consistently delicious, the menu selections varied and interesting, the service attentive and the atmosphere elegant Austrian. If coming from Alpbach or surrounds, the bus stop is right outside. Worth a visit for top notch Austrian food.
