Gasthof zur Sonne - Table reservation

Probably the best way of tasting the food of one country is accepting the invitation of the natives. Of course you always depend on their tastes, but normally the result is worth it. Gasthof zur Sonne probably hasn't received many visits from foreigners, so I can say I tasted the actual Baden cuisine not disturbed by international touristic standards.All I can say is that the salads were gorgeous and the meat dishes too. The dishes included local specialities like Sauerkraut and potato 'Croketten'. Pork meat was simply excellent and the veal Schnitzel too, everything accompanied by tasty vegetables.We drank the excellent local Pilsen beer and the atmosphere of the wooden decorated lounge was...

The food is neither good nor bad, hence the title. Whilst we like the location and ambience, some of the staff do come across as being unfriendly and the service can be slow at times even when quiet.Would happily go back for drinks, though it wouldn't be our first choice in Oberkirch for food.

we visited this old place twice. both of us were supported by some very rude waiters. eating was good, but not amazing. I can't revive this place. it is dark and old and a bit down. maybe this is his charm, but. look elsewhere for a good German experience

very tasty dishes from the region. good that we are back in the next night. prices are quite reasonable and correspond to other local restaurants.

good eating and beer, a good place to eat when visiting the black forest region. try the flamingos, but go hungry, it takes some finishing
