I have been pleasantly surprised with what this Tavern has to offer in the way of food, entertainment and customer service. Can only describe as extremely pleasing with that touch of class, having been there a couple of times this week with more visits before we depart in a week or so. Having canvassed Caloundra for Seniors Meal Deals (unsuccessfully) we came across the Golden Beach Tavern and experienced beautiful meals at attractive prices (The seniors roast special of the day $7.50) and the plate was adequate and beautifully prepared. Having made numerous trips to Caloundra recently we had often passed the GBT without much thought. The street frontage does not really give much indication fo what this venue really has to offer.Great meals, with plenty of options on their extensive menu. Steak wa well cooked and pricing was great. Nice setting with a variety of seating areas, both indoor and alfresco. Pricing for meals and drinks was very good. and numerous specials on offer. Also offer some of the best priced seniors lunch deals around. Looking forward to going back.
I remember that the food at this restaurant was decent, but nothing exceptional. We opted to sit in the outdoor area where the kids were entertained by a rock wall and sand pits. I prefer this type of setup over dingy playrooms with video games. My only concern was that the pool fence was easily accessible and it was difficult to keep an eye on the kids from a certain angle. Other than that, I really enjoyed the experience. It's a relaxed spot to have a drink, just be cautious if you have active children because of the pool.
We have been to the GBT twice in the past couple of weeks as they have had Monday night specials of Barramundi with Greek Salad and Kipfler Potato Chips. The first week the Greek Salad was huge, the Barra scrumptious and the Kipfler chips amazing so we returned the following week .. the Greek Salad was different, but still nice and the Barra was delicious. Keep the Barra Monday Specials on please guys and we will keep returning!

My wife and I went to Golden Beach Tavern for dinner to end our day. The restaurant has a great location, making it easy to get to. I ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs and my wife ordered the Chicken and Vegetable Pie. When our meals arrived, we were both impressed with how delicious they were and they met the high standard we have come to expect from previous visits.
Went to the GBT for lunch. 6 of us all seniors and most ordered off their seniors special menu but it took 50 minutes to get our meals. Whilst I know time is supposed to pass fast at our age it was far too long. All meals were nice and great value for seniors at $7.50. Drinks are not cheap but ok. Don't come here if you are in a hurry.
If you want a quick meal that's tasty and reasonably priced, the the GBT is a good bet. The menu is exactly what you'd expect at a good tavern - plenty of choices and a welcoming atmosphere. There is a weekly trivia game (currently each Wednesday evening) that is a perfect complement to a meal with friends.
For breakfast, I couldn't finish my plate even though I only ordered what I thought was bacon and eggs. The portion was huge, but it was excellent value for money with great service.
