My wife and I drove out to Hemingway from Myrtle as we were here from Virginia on winter vacation. The reviews for this restaurant were enough for us to come and try the food and visit the pits to see whole hogs being cooked. We went in and ordered, there was no BBQ so we got ribs and chicken with sides and an extra side of sauce. The ladies in the restaurant were Fantastic, Helpful, and Friendly. We grabbed our food and decided to read the historical plaque near the entrance of the pits. Subsequently, my wife asked if we could take a peek at the pits, The older gentleman in the pit tent with several others reluctantly said, well you want a peek, go ahead.
