During a week-long work trip in West Brompton, I searched for local restaurants that offered more exciting and authentic options than a typical pub burger. I came across Ghion while looking for vegan options and decided to order takeout since I didn't want to dine alone. The aromas coming from the kitchen were enticing, indicating that the food would be full of flavor and not disappointing. I chose the veggie platter, which included four different elements and a large serving of injera. My favorite was the yellow lentils, while the red lentil dish had a spicy kick. Cafe Ghion was originally recommended to me by an Ethiopian colleague, I've now been several times and it has never disappointed: the food here is outstanding! The menu has a wide variety of dishes some familiar, some less familiar and the owner is exceptionally welcoming, ready to explain all of the options, give recommendations and tell you more about the culture and history of Ethiopia. Portions are generous and they have no issues with you taking leftovers home either! Eating here is a wonderful experience. Dishes I'd recommend are Ghion tibs, doro wot and shiro wot, and the kategna starter is also excellent. My friends also recommend the various vegetarian options. Make sure you try the...

I used to live down the road from the Ghion Cafe and I absolutely loved the food. I’d never had Ethiopian cuisine previously but I’m definitely a convert. I really like the Ethiopian pancakes (injera and my fave dish was the veggie combo (how do they make lentils so tasty? . They also had a spicy tomato side salad which was great. The traditional coffee was really good too, not something I’d tried previously but it had a great flavour. Can’t wait to visit again!

The food at this restaurant was fantastic, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. My date and I had a great evening, enjoying delicious food, excellent service, and all at a reasonable price. The coffee ceremony at the end was a perfect finish to a perfect meal. Book a table now

I came here with my friend for dinner. We are both vegetarian and we couldn’t have been happier with our meal. Everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere, the flavours, the service and the general concern for our well being was so appreciated. I would highly recommend!
