We weren't staying but just dropped in for the restaurant which is well worth a visit . Food drinks: The restaurant is lovely with very pleasant and helpful staff. The menu is very good the food is freshly prepared and tastes great. Or you can have just a coffee and cake, all presented really nicely. Plenty of choice and very enjoyable and reasonable. The group of people I was with all thoroughly enjoyed it and we need up in the lovely garden for drinks. I am looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch which we have been advised to book for rather than just turn up as it is very popular. Noteworthy details: A beautiful building, well worth a visit even if only popping in for the restaurant.
Gladstone's Library is always a favourite place to visit for coffee or lunch. Today we had coffee and the three mini scones of three different flavours. The scones are a generous size for mini and come with two preserves and a bowl of clotted cream. Delicious and accompanied by good coffee in this beautiful building. Service: 5 Location: 5
Beautiful building, lovely atmosphere. A very polite quietly spoken gentleman took our order in the restaurant and the cakes and coffee were divine. Only downside was the noise from the kitchen, the staff were talking in really loud voices which spoilt the peaceful experience Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 5
Having visited several times in the past for various events I recently took some friends for morning coffee just to see this wonderful gem of a place. As always, staff were welcoming and accommodating, service great and atmosphere, as always, enchanting! Service: 5 Location: 5 Book a table now
I had a lunch gathering with friends in a stunning historic building that boasts an intriguing history. We enjoyed a pleasant meal in the dining areas. Here are my ratings: Food: 3, Service: 5, Location: 4. A highlight of the hotel is its peaceful atmosphere.
I joined as a reader today and surprised myself by spending all day there to finish a book. It’s been a long time since I had a full day to be quiet and do something like that! A beautiful and unique place. Service: 5 Location: 5
Magical place. The energy of quiet thought, reading and reflection was palpable. Rooms: The rooms are good, but you don't really go there for the rooms. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Quiet
We stopped by for lunch, only to discover that they stop serving lunch after 2 PM. Unfortunately, we arrived at 2:10 PM. It might be a good idea for them to extend lunch hours to 2:30 PM for those who come in later. Book a table now
Food and drinks: Excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Notable features: A library, beautiful gardens, and located in a charming village. Rooms: 5/5.
