Founded in 1923, Gold Star Bar is the epitome of a diving bar. No food, cheap beer, and all the twists of society are in full sight. They recently renovated the interior of the bar, but held the same hole in the wall feeling. If you want to drink $5 pitcher and a dark place, this is your bar.
The best place ever!! It's a hole in the wall bar where I and my friends are regular. It doesn't matter if you are gay straight black white, you are welcomed by everyone unless you are a dick... so don't be a dick * also Billie is a big bartender show her love and tip her well
Oldest operating bar in Wayne County. You have to visit just for the history lesson. Goes back to 1923. How you start a bar during the middle of Prohibition is beyond me. Gold Star due to the loss of a relative during WWI. In the middle of a neighborhood.
I love the fact that this place is 100 years old and still going strong! It's a charming bar with darts and pool. They also serve Screwball whiskey, which was delicious! My wife and I had a wonderful time, and we will definitely be back. Book a table now
