The donuts are good, but what really shines is how friendly the owner/cashier is (he even put some donut holes in for free! . Their plain icing is basically the traditional (plain powdered sugar , which some people may not like. They've got some unique pastries that other donut shops wouldn't have, including bacon-topped ones. As I said, it's a good little place, so it was worth at least checking it out if you're on that side of town.
This restaurant has had three different owners, but each has preserved the original recipes while adding their own unique touches. Having lived in four different states, I've yet to find anywhere else quite like it. I cherish the memories of walking there with my grandmother as a child and taking my own kids there as a special treat before school. It's truly a hidden gem and a cultural icon in Citrus Heights.
The donuts here are incredibly delicious and fresh, and the staff is very friendly. It's much better than Krispy Kreme! There's a wide variety to choose from, but make sure to arrive early!
Walking inside was like a time trip. It smells like a donut shop. I bought an apple fritter, and it actually tasted of apple. Clean and neat store with smiling, friendly people. Book a table now
The change of ownership from the last time I was there apparently didn't change the great quality of the doughnuts. Inexpensive, wonderful tasting doughnuts
