My husband and I recently tried this restaurant. We were greeted and given an explanation of how everything works. You get your menus and an order pad, so it is nice to sit and take your time to find out what you want to order without the pressure of a server, and write it yourself. If you are ready to place the order, go to the counter, check the person there and pay accordingly. On this trip we ordered a platelet of Lo mein with shrimps, cattle and chickens, soup dumplings and Bbq pigs. I wasn't really selling on the cocks, but everything else was incredible. We stopped here on our way to Wisconsin, we were intrigued by the reviews. It was Chinese New Year. We didn't order from the special menú, and afterwards we regret it a little. My food was to salty and it looked to me as if it had been just quickly warmed up. Everything is self serve! But the person at the front didn't necessarily explain it. The food overall is good, worth the drive, we will be back but this time if they have a special menú we will order from that. I would be more customer service oriented and ask people if it is their first time I would explain where to get your own tea, silverware, napkins etc. They do not take tips for dinning in, they will just add $1.00 to the bill for...
I would advise against ordering at this restaurant. And if you do, it is a good idea to triple-check that the order is vegan. I ordered fried tofu with vegetables and fried rice, and there were eggs in the rice! The menu said nothing about the eggs. Furthermore, I specified that the order must be vegan and specifically said no eggs in the note. However, the restaurant ignored the note.
Sooooo many amazing vegan vegetarian options clearly marked throughout the extensive menu. Authentic Chinese. Served family style which means good-sizes portions served on a platter.
