Apparently Golden King has been in existence for years but it was my first time there a few days ago. Although Dundas Court in Philip is not an attractive venue, the ease of free parking made up for it somewhat.I went there with two girlfriends looking for a quiet place to chat and have lunch. The decor though old-fashioned and faded, was clean and pleasant. Three of us settled for the lunch special. Open for lunch on Sunday, we enjoyed a lovely banquet lunch, with excellent service, fabulous food and lovely host. Because it was my fathers 79th birthday we were brought an extra entree course which delighted our family. Tasty favourites not over loaded with sauce or onions, this restaurant ticks all the boxes for flavour and portion size. The prawn dumplings were particularly delicious. The fresh fruit final course was a pleasant finish to a great meal. Fully licensed. The only down side was the coffee included in the banquet was instant. An investment in a capsule coffee maker would be a valuable addition. Well done, one delighted family
Went with my friends for the first time to dine in. The place was a little quiet during lunch time which was perfect as we were given a big round table with a lazy susan. The food we tried were great especially the fried prawns dish which my friend insisted we should order turns out to be super yum and not heavily battered. The owner came out to have a chat and making us feel welcome. We'll most definitely come back again and will have their famous fried ice cream!!
My favourite take away place. I always call in advance to be sure I don't wait that long. Their chicken wings are my favourite and their spring rolls are really good. I prefer this over the other Asian restaurants near the area as the servings are heaps more and it's quite affordable. Try their lunch specials and you'll get your money's worth.

The food was nice. We had satay beef and fried salt pepper eggplant. The satay could've had a bit more flavour. Their mixed entree was good, but not a fan of the spring roll filling. A bit mushy and tasted of aniseed. Servings are generous.
I have been coming here for over 10 years with friends and family for lunch and dinner. Although it is not the prettiest, the food is fresh and delicious, and the prices have always been very good. Love the lunch special

Just don't mind the interiors. So far they are the best tasting chinese food we've tried in CBR and with generous servings too.
I drove all the way from Sydney almost 4 hours, just coming for this best Chinese restaurant in Canberra.
