It is hard to see how the Taste of London format works in other cities. It has offshoots in places as disparate as Dubai and Melbourne, but Parisians would surely turn up their elegant noses at this crass fetishisation of cheffery. New Yorkers would be baffled that the existence of good restaurants, something they have taken for granted forever, was a cause for any kind of celebration. Yet in London the festival draws thousands of discerning punters, top chefs (all three of the Roux men, Raymond Blanc and Pierre Koffman are appearing this year), and a wealth of restaurants and independent suppliers from all over the world. As much as it is a showcase for suppliers and restaurateurs, there is...

never again! we sat for dinner outside in the garden, very beautiful Mediterranean environment. when you look more closely, everything looks more sloppy, the chair rests anything but well maintained. the personal looks sweet, how hospitable you feel ready. we served bad, bad meat. the waiter, addressed to the incredible, cunning from the waiter and disappeared with the comment: this is not the meat that smells, but the wash basin .na great! then we ordered something else, which was quite okay, but we were appetit, the bad smell still in the nose, but somehow over. also a snuck on the house could not stop us that we soon left. that was our, after long time intervals, 3rd and last attempt. con...

We were there with six persons. Everybody had something else and all were satified. For our family and friends in Mainz this is the one in which birthdayparties are celebrated. The glasses of good wine from the region are filled good above the 0,2 l like the good 'Spätburgunder '. German Reds are not wellknown but can compete with th french (my opinion: more taste and quality for a lower price). The top of the meal wa the Pflaumen Variation, a plumparfait on plumcompote. Mjammie Bill for four persons: 8 wine, 1 water, 4 mains, 2 delicious plumparfaits, 2 espresso: 89, euro

Even though it looks like an old-school German Inn, it is comfortable, and the food is very good if not pretentious. A combination of German/Austrian staples such as the ubiquitous Schnitzel, and Balkan style grilled meat such as Pljeskavica (Burger filled with cheese), all well prepared and served in large portions. The wine is very reasonably priced, and the service firendly and efficient. A local place that does not feel too local. Also worth the visit in the summer, where the Innenhof is open, and with its flower pots and trees feels very relaxed and welcoming.
