My Fiancee and I went for dine in dinner on a Monday night. It looked like there was only one chef, there was one other dining in family when we arrived however there were multiple takeaway orders while we were there.We ordered two vegetarian meals, mine was the Palak Paneer, the menu advertised it with capsicum, when I got my meal it had no capsicum and was quite bland. The waitress explained they were a chef down and that's why there was no capsicum in the meal. They took it back and fixed it up and it was a lot better after. I still added salt to bring out the flavours. The Dahl Sagwaala was also one of the blandest I have had.Service was good and friendly.
This place has been here for years under the same management and never disappoints. Tradition approach to Indian cuisine, reasonable portion sizes and a broad menu selection, including real tandoor oven dishes, and realistic prices. The takeaway service is also reliable and on time except for the occasional short delay at peak times.importantly the menu offers three levels of heat in the curry dishes which is great if you are dining with friends who are not keen on hotter dishes.Can recommend on the basis of consistency and reasonable value for money.
I love this place for the last 10-15yrs..there was no other restaurant around to compare the quality and taste other than Karma in Brunswick Street, Brisbane City. Quality of rice gone down..seems they are giving sticky rice compared to Basmathi/Jasmin long grain rice. Earlier we used to get better quality rice with take away..Curried meat pieces are hard. Their variety of naans are good. Their $11.00 lunch deal is great but the quality of curries and rice has gone down.
Last Friday we celebrated a wedding anniversary at the sister restaurant at Gumdale and with just a casual mention of our event they decorated the table appropriately.We went for the food (as we do regularly) as after visiting India it resembles the traditional taste of India so well. The staff are quite young but very efficient and friendly. The a number of people coming to collect take away gives a good indication of the popularity and quality of the place and food.

Just brought home a take away meal and the lady taking down my order got a dish wrong , I didn't realise until I got home with the order and I phoned the restaurant only to be told I'll make sure she listen better next time
15minutes waiting time...excellent friendly service...I like their Lamb Badhami and Pepper Lamb...very authentic indian curries. Also I like their Chillie Chicken made for an special order. Prices comparatively reasonable.
Shared some platters. Food was very over cooked, dry and greasy. Far from being good examples of Indian food. Probably will not bother returning. Grand Taj had been recommended to us but our experience was disappointing
Grand Taj is our "go to" curry house. We've been dining there regularly for over 10 years. The food is excellent and the staff are wonderful! Definitely recommend.

For a takeaway order it was decent food, I got the butter chicken medium and it was hotter than I expected. Good size meals and decent prices.
Dishes are always freshly cooked and are very flavoursome. No generic curry flavours here. Every dish is a winner.
