Will not be returning to Granite City. The brunch has limited options compared to previously. They were busy but service was very slow and not very attentive given the size of our group. The bathroom needed serious attention and the server I alerted to the situation looked very put upon to have been bothered about it. Who else should I have told?? Our last visit was soon after things opened up after the COVID shut down. I was served a dry, plain burger on dry toast when I’d ordered a patty melt. Thought we’d give them another try for a celebratory family brunch (16 people). Sadly, we thought wrong.
Overall it was a good experience. The prices are pretty fair but you definitely get what you pay for. Had the Idaho nachos to start they were ok nothing special. I got the bedda cheddar it was not great it was overcooked (ordered medium came out well done) the cheese was piled high as described but the cheese was only half melted and mostly cold. My wife got the fish tacos which she said were very good but the tortilla was rock hard towards the top but it was fine and added an extra crunch. The standout was definitely the service! He was prompt and attentive. Would return because of the service.
I have been eager to try the brunch at Granite City for some time now, and their St. Patrick's special seemed like the ideal opportunity. However, I was greatly disappointed. The food was excessively greasy - for example, the Hashbrowns were soaked in at least an inch of oil. Our server was excellent and even brought us a plate of fresh cinnamon rolls, but unfortunately they were undercooked. The quality of the food did not justify the nearly $25 per adult price tag we paid for our family of four. In hindsight, we should have just gone to a normal sit-down restaurant and ordered from the menu.
We were all very unimpressed with our meals. The sweet potato fries were a soggy mess, the buffalo chicken wrap was dripping in dressing and had giant hunks of celery. The fries that came with the fish fry tasted freezer burned. Also never were asked how food was or got refills. We won’t be back.

The server spilled beer all over my jeans and our appetizer. He didn’t bother to replace my beer or uneaten appetizer. He also completely stained my jeans. Didn’t even apologize. We won’t be returning.
Salmon had no flavor, uncooked dough in pretzel sticks….. waited a long time for service and never got a refill.
The prime rib sandwich was awesome. Have had it 3 times now. Hector took good care of us. I will be back.
Excellent service and food during Lent. The fish was juicy and tasty.
