The food might be good, but I wouldn't know—it feels like a gamble whether they'll actually have anything available when you arrive. Either serve the food or don’t call yourself a restaurant. The last four times I went in, they had signs saying they were out of ribs, chicken, and pork. Last night, it was 6:38 PM and they close at 8. I ended up going to Vinny's (Jimmy Bear's) on the other side of town, where the food was excellent and the portions were more than we could finish. I won’t be returning to Granny's until they figure out whether they want to run a business or if this is just a hobby for them.
This restaurant is incredible! It's rare to find a small business where the owner takes such pride in their work and products, and this is definitely one of those gems. I've tried the ribs, which are consistently meaty and packed with flavor—even without any sauce. The wings are also impressive: tender and large. And the baked beans? Absolutely delicious! If you're looking for excellent BBQ served by someone who genuinely appreciates your patronage, this is the place to be! I'm fortunate that this spot isn't closer to my home, or I'd probably need a second job to satisfy my Granny's cravings!
I ordered the brisket sandwich and corn casserole. Unfortunately, the brisket sandwich had an overwhelming taste of liquid smoke, or it seemed to be drenched in something to keep it moist. Either way, it was quite unappetizing, and I couldn’t even finish it. As for the corn casserole, it was undercooked and had too much moisture for my liking. In my experience with corn casserole over the years, it should have a slightly drier texture.
Grannies is absolutely awesome every time I order everything is delicious I changed it up once and I ordered from Jimmy and I was so disappointed so I will constantly sick with grannies Book a table now
This place is a hidden treasure! The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is wonderful. I'm so thrilled to have discovered it!
This has some of the best barbecue anywhere around here y'all need to try it and there corn casserole is to die for go get you some it's awesome
First time ever eating we ordered two whole slabs pulled pork baked beans macaroni and cheese everything was absolutely great
