I made a reservation for 11 people a week in advance, but when we arrived we were seated in a back corner where it was drafty and smelled of gas heaters. We had to ask a waitress to come take our drink orders because no one had approached us yet. When a Corona was finally brought to the table, it was missing the lime we requested. The waitress brought a lime over in her fingers, which was unappetizing. The food was mediocre, with everyone giving their meals a 5/10 rating. We were looking for the restaurant affiliated with the Brass Monkey bar since we had read a good review in the local paper; this seemed to be it, although it is rather small with few tables. Nevertheless, the food and wine were quite good. We split a starter of duck spring rolls, my wife had a tandori sandwich and I went with the barramundi and chips; Trentham (NSW) merlot accompanying. The price was quite reasonable.
Attached to the Brass Monkey but a world away in style! Called in for a quick wednesday lunch and enjoyed the lunch specials of Steak and Chicken parmi both with chunky chips and salad. All washed down with a very gluggable Yellowtail merlot. Service friendly but not great due to trainee server. Overall a very good quality and value lunch for two. At $48 total you cant beat that for Perth value.
Decided to try this small restaurant (attached to the Brass Monkey pub) for a weekend lunch rather than our normal weekday visit. To our surprise they still run special lunch and dinner meals on weekends. we had our favourite steak specials and it was reallly good value and accompanied a reasonably priced bottle of WA red wine.
