Growing up eating Filipino food, I get cravings every so often. I usually make what I want at home but to be able to have 2-3 of your favorite Filipino dishes, well then, you’d have to be at a party. But if one is craving some from the islands than you need to find the nearest Seafood City and get yourself to a Grill city. Is it the best? Nah. Is it pricey? Yahh. Is it good? Sometimes. Does it fill your cravings? ABSOLUETLY! Every Filipino Lola’s/Lolo’s (grandmother/Grandfather) makes each dish different. It will not be one of those omg reminds me of home moments (unless you live in the Midwest with a bunch of non-Asian descendants and only eat hamburgers and pizza for years) but rather, it...

Growing up enjoying Filipino cuisine, I occasionally get cravings for it. Usually, I cook at home, but having 2-3 favorite Filipino dishes together is more like a celebration. If you’re craving flavors from the islands, find the nearest Seafood City and head to Grill City. Is it the best? Not really. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it good? Sometimes. Does it satisfy your cravings? Absolutely! Every Filipino grandmother and grandfather has their own unique take on each dish, so while it might not be a nostalgic “reminds me of home” experience (unless you’ve been stuck eating mostly burgers and pizza for years), it definitely hits the spot. Authenticity is clear when you see people of the same herit...

Growing up enjoying Filipino cuisine, I often get cravings for those flavors. Usually, I cook at home, but having 2-3 favorite Filipino dishes at once feels like a special occasion. If you’re craving authentic island flavors, head to the nearest Seafood City and check out Grill City. Is it the best? Not quite. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it good? Sometimes. Does it satisfy your cravings? Absolutely! Every Filipino Lola and Lolo prepares dishes differently, so while it might not remind you exactly of your home cooking, it definitely hits the spot. You know the food is authentic when you see people from the same ethnicity enjoying it, and that’s true for Grill City. If you’re in the area and...

I bought groceries at Grill City last week and was pleased to receive a coupon for a two-dollar halo-halo. However, the coupon didn’t have an expiration date, and when I tried to redeem it, the staff informed me that the deal had already expired. She did ask me to come back the following week, promising they would honor the coupon, and even wrote the date on it as a sign of good faith. When I returned today as instructed, I was told they didn’t have the ingredients to make halo-halo, though they might get them later. The manager I spoke with didn’t offer any alternative until I asked. Eventually, she offered me a buko juice drink instead, but any Filipino knows that buko juice just isn’t the... Book a table now

I bought groceries at Grill City last week and was excited to receive a coupon for a two-dollar halo-halo. However, the coupon didn’t have an expiration date, and when I tried to use it, the staff said the offer had already expired. She kindly asked me to come back next week, promising they would honor the coupon, even writing the date on it as a sign of good faith. When I returned today, I was told they didn’t have the ingredients to make halo-halo but might get them later. The manager I spoke with didn’t offer any alternatives until I suggested one. Eventually, she offered me a buko juice instead, but anyone familiar with Filipino treats knows that buko juice isn’t the same as halo-halo.

The sign indicated that the packing time was 11:57 and the prep time was 12:40. We placed our order around 6:00, but the food didn’t arrive until 7:30. According to the sign, the food should be discarded after 4 hours, which means it should have been thrown out by around 4:30. That implies the food sold to us should have been discarded because it was past its expiration time. If we had noticed that sign before tasting the food, we would have returned it! The palabok and bihon were excessively salty, as was the grilled liempo. Everything was extremely salty!

I bought BBQ from Grill City yesterday afternoon and was very disappointed when I got home for dinner. The meat was undercooked and tough, and the taste was awful—definitely not what it used to be when they first opened. Some of the meat on the skewer even looked old. It seems like the quality of all their food has declined. About a month ago, I also ordered a half tray of pancit bihon, and the noodles at the bottom were hard and improperly cooked. I hope the management takes note of this and works to improve the quality of their food.

This restaurant is really frustrating. It has a wonderful aroma that truly reminds me of home, but I always end up disappointed with my orders. This will be my last time trying it. The rice was overcooked and sticky, the chicken was raw with pinkness under the skin and blood dripping, the BBQ was bland, the lumpia was soggy, and the pork adobo was as hard as a rock. And what's happened to the coconut milk in my ginataang puso? I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed. I won’t be recommending this place to any of my friends or family. Book a table now

The bihon didn’t taste like traditional pancit and was quite unpleasant, so I didn’t eat it. The macaroni salad was also disappointing; its texture was like it had been frozen for five days. I ended up throwing it away. The liempo was very dry as well.
