"We walked in for brunch, about 30min-1h wait. Matcha latte is good but not strong enough. Buttercream pancakes look fluffy on picture, but actually just tasted like normal pancake texture, has the right sugar level though."

Sylvia Plath once wrote, “If you expect nothing from somebody, you are never disappointed”, and that was my initial mistake in choosing to try out this chain: expecting too much from it. From the second the doors to Grind opened this morning, we were swiftly brought through to sit down at one of the furthest ends of the restaurant, where the servers were not regularly attending the table. The restaurant was freezing cold to the point we had to keep our jackets on, closed and wrapped around us to prevent freezing too much, as there was no heating provided or offered. The only warm source was coffee. Although the coffee was promptly made, they did not ask whether we wanted a regular or a large...

I came alone and ordered an iced coffee, buttermilk pancakes and hash browns. The food was up to a high standard. Although the pancakes did come with mascarpone cheese and a berry jam, and after a while the cheese made me feel a bit ill. The hash browns were amazing. Best hash browns I’ve ever eaten if I’m honest. The coffee was good, I think if there was the option to add flavourings like caramel or vanilla that would take it up a notch. The service was pretty good, although I was seated for a while without being served but it’s okay. The staff are so lovely. Would recommend

Popped in here for a coffee, tea, and cakes with friends. This is a big cafe, with good attentive staff. Despite the fact I wasn 't hungry, I ordered the 'thick ' french toast with strawberries and cream. It was certainly thick. Maybe too thick as I left some of it on my plate. The coffee was good (flat white). Atmosphere light and airy, at least out the back area. Definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant place. Dog friendly, nice food, good service. Buttermilk chicken burger is fantastic and the sausages in the full English are the best iv ever eaten.Weirdly the David Attenborough podcast playing in the toilets was a really nice touch. Different.
