"This place is solid. Not the cheapest place but not the most expensive. Very good NOLA creole food. Simple but ample menu. I just had a couple of appetizers oyster BLT and a bowl of gumbo followed by bread pudding. All very good. Reservations are a good idea. Highly recommended."

Every year my family makes oyster stew for Christmas and every year it’s disgusting. I’m always up for trying something I’ve hated repeatedly when at a nice restaurant, Gris did not disappoint. The oyster pie/stew was so good. The jambalaya was very good as well but I already make a good jambalaya. Drinks were unique but not not strong. Beer was more affordable than cheaper restaurants. We didn’t try the mains, but what we saw around us looked great.

We didn’t make a reservation, but arrived early enough for dinner to be seated at the chef’s counter where we could watch the action in the kitchen. Went for the double cut pork chop that was super satisfying with a great balance of sweet and savory. Wish I had more space on my stomach because all the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous! Service was equally good, even with the dizzying number of customers.

Best meal in NOLA! We absolutely loved this place! We stopped there for brunch without reservation and they seated us outside. The place is beautiful! Everything we ordered was delicious with fresh and seasonal ingredients. The service was fast and the staff was really nice. They even welcomed our little chihuahua bringing her a bowl of chicken and rice. If you are in town don’t miss this gem in the garden district!

Gris-Gris is everything you'd want in your NOLA dining experience. The atmosphere is casually elegant. The food is decadent. The drinks are reasonably priced, and everyone having one around me was more than enjoying them. The gumbo is a really good dish. It's dark brown roux is a near perfect base for for each ingredient. The bar staff was beyond friendly, and I'd happily return again to try more dishes.
