It was a huge discovery... a rainy afternoon when we arrived after a long ride. On the first day we had local wine, a beautiful dish of local meat and cheese. Everything great, up on the beautiful and enthusiastic waitress. We returned two nights later and had cooked amazing pork ribs over an open fire. We have preordered a special drop-set menu for two nights, consisting of saddle of deer with roasted chestnuts, spaetzli, red cabbage, brussel sprouts, poached pear. It was our best holiday meal. This charming establishment and its hospitable staff are fabulous!!
gemütliche Atmosphäre mit Kamin, aussen Steintische unter Bäumen. Eine sehr gute Küche, toller Service - vor allem für Familien mit Kindern sehr geeignet. Nach dem Essen empfahl man uns einen Ausflug zur nahegelegenen Straussenfarm, von der auch das Fleisch geliefert wird. Im Wald hinter dem Grotto kann man spazieren gehen oder in der Hängematte liegen. Ein toller Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg in den oder aus dem Urlaub. Von der Speisekarte sehr zu empfehlen ist das Semifreddo al Nocino.
Wir waren mit dem Fahrrad den ganzen Tag nach Bellinzona unterwegs( von Andermatt). Dort einen guten Freund aus der Region getroffen, der uns mit zum Grotto Centena nahm. Das liegt ja in Graubünden was man an den köstlichen Pizzocheri feststellen konnte. Der Salat war frisch, die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Ambiente sehr schön. Sehr zu empfehlen. Ob Tessiner oder Graubündner Grotto; wenn es so ist dann passt es!
C'e' una nuova gestione. Ha cominciato bene la stagione. Ci sono stato due volte e devo dire che sono stato trattato bene, ho mangiato bene, in una buona atmosfera. In giornate calde, sia a pranzo che per cena, all' ombra o al fresco delle secolari piante si sta molto bene. Un solo appunto, ho trovato corretti i prezzi tranne quello del piatto con tre costine, una luganighetta e alcune verdure, fr 27.00, un po' caro.
