When I came in, a few people waited for dinner and a few more came after I arrived, I knew I was in the right place. The skill of the chicken is unsurpassed. Wanted to something different for dinner and I found the restaurant by searching for restaurants near Maplewood MO, and this place came up on the list. After seeing the name I was interested and knew I had to try it. So we met a friend of ours for dinner there. Now I know why they call it Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken it was so good! Sam was our waiter, and he was truly a delightful young man. He was very attentive and ensured we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The service was outstanding! The food was absolutely delicious, with everything served fresh and hot right out of the fryer. The baked beans were packed with flavor, and the chicken was juicy, seasoned to perfection, and crispy on the outside. I also enjoyed the classic music playing softly in the background. The portion sizes were generous as well. I had a pleasant conversation with the new general manager, Karon, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. This is definitely a fantastic place to visit!
My wife I visited here on a Saturday, at the suggestion of a friend. Besides the food, which was excellent, the thing that struck us most was how friendly EVERYBODY was. We were greeted immediately, by a super friendly hostess. Our waitress came by in a minute and was also very friendly. Not weird, just... really nice. The GM even visited our table, and again... what a nice, friendly person. The hot chicken was delicious, the beer was cold, and the tuxedo cake quite tasty. We also had fried green tomatoes, collard greens, coleslaw, and mac cheese for sides. All of it was delicious. We'll back!

My highway mowing crew decided almost unanimously to make this our dinner stop for the night. With world famous on the sign, we had to find out for ourselves. We were greeted and seated promptly! Our waitress had fun and took great care of us.The chicken was phenomenal! The spice is great and not too hot. Slaw and beans were delicious. Highly recommend the Chess and or Chocolate Chess pie!All in all a delightful experience, we'll definitely be back!

Sam was our waiter and he's a young man's money. We were very attentive. Great service. The food was delicious! Everything fresh and hot directly from the frit. The baked beans were tasteful. The chicken was juicy and seasoned for perfection! Nice and crisp. Love old music too. Large parts. Spoke with the New General Manager Karon, very friendly and helpful. This is definitely a good place to go.
Everything we ate was delicious. If you love a southern home cook meal this is the place to go to. The chicken was delicious, Fried okra, fried green tomatoes, Mac cheese, and the sweet potato pie was excellent. It’s a friendly atmosphere it’s worth trying. Thank You for excellent service. Service was great, chicken was pretty good. I wish it was a little spicier. The mac and cheese, beans and fried okra were all very tasty. They gave us a free appetizer when our appetizer took a while to arrive and we hadn't even complained excellent service! Great value.
