Full disclosure, I am Sicilian and am therefore predisposed to love this authentic Sicilian restaurant (trattoria). It was the best place to eat in the area. Staff were unpretentious and attentive (english and italian spoken). They are very busy but service was prompt. Food was delicious, used fresh quality ingredients, portions generous and was well prepared. I ate there several times during my 1 week stay in Nice.I was impressed that we asked for a spicy pepper qsauce and they went out of there way to custom prepare some for us. Also to be mentioned, the pistaccio ice cream was made in house.Although i like french cuisine, this place was an oasis for me after eating so much French cuisine.
If You stroll on the seaside in Cagnes sur Mer, will be confuse by the massive offer in restauration. Do not waiste time, and money, if italian cuisine is your favourite: Gusto has great pastas, fresh fish and meat selection, not to mention the terrific pizzas that we could not enjoy, but seen on many tables next to ours. Being Italians we may pick the real thing from pale imitations and the accidental stop by at Gusto, was a very pleasant surprise. Paula and Mario are doing their very best as patrons and emplyees ad well, in a familiar and warm environtment. Simply try and will agre. Enjoy!
My wife and I very much enjoyed our meal at Gusto. One of the few places in the area that we found provided service to match the quality of the food. I had the veal escalope with a citrus sauce and potatoes which was delicious. There is an extensive choice of pizzas which were also excellent. We were given a small antipasti board to start with, some bread with our mains and a limoncello at the end. All free. The restaurant was filled with locals on a Wednesday night which says everything. Highly recommend if staying in Cagnes Sur Mer.
If your looking for great food with a great view, this is the place for you.Right on the sea front its a great place to eat as the sun goes down.The food is typical Italian home cooking.The service is very good as well. I had the spaghetti lobster and unlike a lot of places which fill the plate with other sea food, this was almost all lobster. Its relatively good value for the south of France.

You have to book a table to make sure that you have a space. The service could be better. The female waitress are kind and helpful but the male ones didn't even notice us. I hade to go to them to order a drink for my son. But the food is good!
The food was very good and they had big servings. You will not leave hungry. The service was a little slow and we had to call the attention to the waiters to be helped. I will recommend it and I will probably go back.
Not at all a good restaurant! You will find much better restaurants at the Promenade. The Service and Quality of food is on a low standard and it is better you spend your money at somewhere else
Excellent address for those looking for an authentic italian pizza, service is good and quick. The location is good, being just over the road from the stone beach.
