The perfect stay for all wine and food lovers! An intimate place full of history and a great location to discover the Wachau. Beautiful large and quiet rooms with lovely finishing touches which must come from the charming host and owner Barbara Holzapfel. We loved...the bright colours and flower arrangements! Breakfast and lunch are fantastic. Everything is from the best local ingredients and wonderful Austrian specialities prepared modern, creative and light. We loved the appetizers on the etegare a great way to share those fine little delicacies.And then there are the fine wines from Karl Holzapfel. I finally made it to Holzapfel with my cousin and her daughter yesterday. The experience was just perfect a a fine dining experience based on Austrian standards. I had Blutwurst with the best homemade mustard that I've ever had. My cousin had an asparagus...dish as it was asparagus season. Her daughter is a vegetarian. There weren't that many vegetarian dishes on the menu, but the chef happily whipped up some tasty spinach dumplings for her. There is a great selection of wines. I should add that our waitress could not have been more charming and helpful also English speaking. The eating area for the summer is in a charming outdoor courtyard that is just lovely. the local is a short piece outside of krems. the rooms are housed in historical arches. unfortunately it becomes loud because the vault does not damp the sound. service was very friendly and professional. a plus point for this local. the menu is well sorted, from fish over wild and meat. all handmade well prepared but unfortunately without esprit. weine from own production. the local is well suited for a good eating zb after a trip. for a unique experience, the prandtauerhof overall artwork is not suitable.

Unfortunately a shot in the oven.Speisen and drinks of low quality but high price, at each average heury it is more tasty.Fade spice, tiny portions my daughter has risen hungry...And the wee drank like water the riesling has tasted just like the veltliner. how were here years ago masters but with the quality of earlier the inflated chicmicki load from today has nothing to do anymore. It's a good thing to do.
my wife invited me to the prandtauerhof. "you must have been once. the goose eating is legendary".I am sure my expectations were already higher than normal zero to express it like that. but I was even more surprised.The atmosphere that feeds, the staff and the shop at the end was all right.I would have forgotten my wife with all the enthusiasm, which was the occasion for everything.
