We have gone to three Gyu-Kaku in Waikiki, San Jose, and New York City. This one does not compare to these at all. There is no all you can eat. The place is run down, not that clean, and bathroom dirty with no toilet paper. We ordered ala cart and though each order was not huge, for a little over 100.00 for three of us we had plenty of food. And it was tasty. It is just that our expectations were not met compared to the others we have been to in the past. We will not be back. The staff at the location are hard workers. There is a button you can push to get service and they always came in a timely manner. If you have never been to one of higher quality you will probably like this place.
Overall good experience, only thing bad was the service. Had to order things more than once on pretty much everything we ordered. We also got stuff we didn?t order but we just ate it anyways because most of it was pretty tasty. The meat cuts weregood and not stingy. Other bbqs like this are usually stingy with the meat. Not this place. Good decent sized cuts. It might besmall portion but it?s unlimited, who cares. I felt like most of the options for the basic tier unlimited should be removedbecause they aren?t good. Like the seaweed salad. Not good or not fresh or something. Need to add kimchi in basic tier.
Busy location. Made appointment, and got seated very fast after arrival. The hosts(or the manger) seems very motivated and passionate about the job so he made the whole experience more enjoyable to the customers. The server seems a little bit burntout and frustrated but she still offered standard service. On the food side, I really like their combo, it?s perfect andconvenient for people who don?t know what to order since they have relatively big menu.
It's my 2nd time at this place. The first time was 9/19 with my college friends, I loved it so much that I invited my other friends celebrating their birthday on 9/20. They too loved the food, good quality meats. The only thing is that there's not enough space on the table to place everything at the same time. There were 6 of us and the table is not big enough, I wish that we could have put 2 tables together. The servers were great and kind.

My orders were the Harami in Secret Pot, Prime Kalbi Short Rib, Beef Tongue, and Bistro Hanger Steak. Overall, I don't think you could go wrong with any of the items marked with double star on the paper menu. I would recommend Gyu Kaku to my family and friends.
it is very difficult to get a parking space on Saturday, so we went to dinner at 17.30. they have happy hour to 18 clock, so we got a combi for a little lower price and ordered a few more a la carte items also to a discount. eating was very good.
My entire family loved it! The food was fantastic and had a great festive atmosphere. There were so many delicious dishes to choose from, and we finished off with the most amazing lava cake and matcha tiramisu!
We celebrated my son’s birthday and they brought him a dessert with a candle which was very nice. It was overall a great experience and everyone enjoyed it.

Gyu Kaku regardless of location never fails to deliver. Easy going ambiance for friends or business and a wide variety of food.
