We reserved for 10 am brunch, but had to call to get the door unlocked at 10:05 (their website also indicates a 10 am opening but the door listed 11). We were told the kitchen wasn’t quite ready yet but were served the bottomless mimosas while we waited, and the ice cream that was supposed to accompany the beignets (which we received later). Our waitress finally took our order at 10:45, and we received our food near 11:15. The food was good not great, and some small items were missing (missing arugula and fruity pebbles respectively for the entrees). This is a great location!! Highly recommend. The only con was the reservation system but that comes with technology. There will be glitches sometimes. Other than that, I loved the atmosphere, the music, the service, and the food. I ordered the oh, you fancy which was the shrimp and grits. The name HalfSmoke, seems more like a local name for a Carryout, until you hear about the history of the name HalfSmoke. The atmosphere was great and has potential, it?s setting is like a DC Social Cafe. The seating options are at the bar, table or private party area. The long wooden bench that connects two or three separate tables were unpleasant, due to the other guests were constantly tilting the whole bench forward, (I recommend removing the bench). absolute NO ; service was terrible i would not recommend . it took forever for food to come out when it did they were still missing items. I then waited about 20 mins for the remainder of my meal that of which were EGGS (which takes two seconds) They gave plastic knives and forks , forgot cups for the water and did not care to check on us. The funnel cake did not taste like funnel cake nor was there any powered sugar. The busboy was more attentive than our actual waiter.

My friends and I had a great time at brunch at Halfsmoke in November 2022. Most of us opted to take advantage of their bottomless mimosas option. Our favorites were probably the pineapple and blueberry. And those mimosas were strong. Plus, they kept bringing us more mimosa pitchers well after the official 90 minute time limit had passed. The atmosphere was fun, young college crowd. The service and beer were great. My Dave Chapelle chicken sausage was a little disappointing. They cut the link in half, length wise. I couldn 't enjoy it like i wanted to. ???????????????????
Went for HH and menu options are limited and mostly fried items and they were out of stock on quite a few items. Our bar tender was amazing which saved the experience. He kept the drinks flowing and was so pleasant and helpful!
Our food took over an hour to come out, and they brought it all at different times so some of it got cold. We also waited about 15 mins for a server to take our order because no one knew whose section we were seated in.

Our server was phenomenal. She made great recommendations, and while there were a couple of issues with some drink orders, she remedied them quickly and without issue.
We absolutely loved the crab fries and the roasted Brussels sprouts at this restaurant. Additionally, the sauce on the "baby" pasta was outstanding.
