Most chip shops will serve decent food, but Hampton Chippy offer an extra service which you just don't get anywhere else. Not only do they they make sure that the temperature of their food won't burn your mouth, by serving it lukewarm, but they also pre taste it for you. OK, so a bite taken out of a battered sausage is not the norm, but the staff should be commended for ensuring that the food is edible before it leaves the shop. The teeth marks are plainly visible, so check your food to make sure that their unique brand of Quality Control has been carried out. You could even make a game of it guess which of their grubby staff took the bite!
Well, over 40 people had fish n chips or sausage n chips delivered to croft farm water park. I can only speak for myself, but phew massive fish in crispy batter accompanied with proper mushy peas and lovely chips. Heres hoping they will do the same next year. I also have to thank Alan for organising this. After a 130 mile drive i was really looking forward to my dinner. Hampton Chippy....... Thanks
The quality of the standard of cooking has disappointingly steeply declined. Certainly on this visit. The chips were flaccid and severely undercooked, to the extent we had to discard three quarters of them uneaten. The batter on the fish was not crisp, and the curry sauce was even thinner than usual, like sloppy dishwater. What a shame. This was on Saturday evening of a Bank Holiday weekend.
We pre-booked having seen the Gluten Free Sunday, our first time at Hampton. Pick up was easy and the chips were plentiful, fresh, and delicious. Fish size was also generous, all very fresh, will definitely be returning. It's quite a process they've to go through to provide gluten free, so glad they did as the next nearest GF chippy is some distance away.

I was disappointed with my experience at Hamptons chippy. It was a waste of time and money. I remember enjoying their food when they first opened, but this evening was a let-down. The fish was dry, the chips were cold, and they tasted like bad potatoes. I hope this was just a one-time occurrence.
First time in the area that we bought fish and chips from Hamptons. They were amazing. Beautiful white fish with hot chips with no ‘eyes’ in them... I look forward to buying again. Generous portions .... Reasonably priced... Highly recommend...

We picked up a meal for ourselves and our parents and we were extremely disappointed. The chips looked brown and old, we couldn't even eat them. We will not be going back.

Brilliant every time, this is a local favourite of ours excellent food and excellent customer service. The kebabs are fantastic and portions are not shy. 10/10.
We stumbled upon this hidden gem by chance and were impressed by the soft and crunchy chips and amazing service. We will definitely be returning regularly.
