We have had Korean food on several occasions and my wife isn't a big fan but she loved the food here! She eats pretty much everything and is a big fan of Vietnamese, Malaysian and Chinese food but for some reason the sometimes bland or chilli rich Korean foods don't appeal to her which is a shame because I love Korean food!We got a groupon deal for this place because that is about the only way I can get her to come to a Korean eatery with me and she loved it and was actually interested in going back to try the hot stone bibimbap which I never thought I would get her to eat again after the last time we got one. The voucher included a glass of wine that was bought out to us right away along wi...

I bought a Groupon voucher for 4 people to sample the 7 course banquet with BBQ meat, the price included a glass of wine. It worked out at $22 per head and, at that price, was an OK meal and offered something a bit novel with the cook-your-own meat over charcoal in a well in the middle of the table. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid the published rate of $60 per head. The restaurant is upstairs above shops in a small shopping centre, no atmosphere to speak of. We were seated quickly, given a jug of water and four glasses of wine. The first course was a chive pancake, cut into quarters - it was very thick and undercooked, not a good start. Secondly we had four almost-warm dumpl...
I had a Korean dish, forgotten exactly which one, but it was relatively inexpensive, came out in an orderly fashion and well and truly exceeded expectations. It came across to me as a very authentic Korean dinner. i have been to Seoul once and like Korean food and should remember the names of the dishes better. It was a terrific feed for a decent price, no mega unexpected charge for tap water (like in other restaurant in the hood here!), friendly service, prompt checkout,.... This particular evening, close to closing time, there was a Chinese wedding in the Chinese restaurant next door with a Chinese singer which interfered with the nice music being played in this restaurant, but that couldn...
We were a group of four on a Groupon 7 course deal. Our experience was very similar to others. We first noticed the tiniest serve of rice I have seen - surprising for a rice based culture. It was hard to find any Korean people eating in this venue. Saw one couple, and what they were eating looking quite delicious. We all love Korean food eaten many times, but this set menu seemed westernised. Enjoyable but we left with a sense of wanting to eat Korean food. We had to request Kimchi. We did find we got left behind by the staff and it is difficult getting their attention. Given we were the ones doing the cooking - we were not sure what was otherwise going on. Book a table now
The Korean BBQ is quite famous and highly regarded as a food experience not just eating. The Hancook restaurant has the opportunity to convert this into reality for Brisbane. Fail! The food is quite good in Hot stone bowls but the experience is pedestrian to say the least. Service was ok without being overly attentive. Parking is not plentiful and really not worth the effort. If you are looking for a good Korean BBQ experience this isn't it.
I visited this restaurant with my Korean partner and she mentioned that it had a typical Korean restaurant setup. As someone who is new to Korean food, I found it to be a unique experience. The staff was friendly and efficient, providing prompt and good service. I received more than expected from a voucher, so I would definitely return again. Overall, it was great value for money with excellent service. What more could you ask for?
I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to try this restaurant instead of going for Chinese food. There are so many different options to enjoy the food here. We ordered the set menu which included a BBQ at the table and all-you-can-eat options from a 3-course list. We were very pleased with our meal and recommend trying the marinated dishes. We plan to return soon to try their hot stone cooking option. Definitely worth a visit!
We shared a meal with friends and found this restaurant to be a great place to enjoy good company in a pleasant venue. The restaurant was not too quiet as to be imposing but not too noisy either - just comfortable for people chatting. The barbecue was cooked on the table, and with appropriate assistance from staff, we were able to enjoy the experience.Food was both ample and of good quality. Cooking your own dinner....but its fun and different and is a change to doing it yourself at home! the meats are ready for you to put on the plate, the kids thought it was great and helped for a change!! We went on a special as otherwise probably something we wouldn't have done. Bit too expensive I think so the special made it perfect.
Food was tasty and portions were huge for the price. This was off the beaten path, but what a great find. Yummy!
