I’m not a guy that likes to complain. And also in fact, I haven’t wrote any negative food critics in years. However, the food of Hangari was just terrible. Below was a half-through picture of a 78 dollar dish(85 plus tax). It was advertised to serve 3-4 people, however, the amount of noodles was enough for like 7 people, the amount of seafood was barely enough for only two people (in my opinion). Clams amount were ok, 5 or 6 shell-on shrimps with a few crab pieces. And that was it! It was just a bowl of noodles for almost 100 bucks!! Taste was mild, maybe we should’ve done spicy soup but it was just really so so. And lots of people were waiting in lines for this kind of food which was totall...

Oh. My. God.Amazing food! Such quick and helpful service too and I love that they have little plastic dividers between tables plus ask for your vaccine card to enter. The kimchi and other pickles are so fresh and flavourful. The options for vegans/ vegetarians are great too (I got the bibimbap with beef subbed for tofu) and the spicy pork dish was amazing tooDefinitely recommend it even if the wait is a little long. Trust me, it’s worth it. Also the corn silk tea is so good! So glad we tried that out too because I now have a new favourite tea!
Hangari Kalguksu specializes in Kalguksu. I mean, it's in their name. There are a few different variations on the soup that you can get. You can get a soup with dumplings, with clams, or half a chicken. The half a chicken is a literal half a chicken, but it is small. The portion sizes on the soups are giant. I was hard pressed to finish mine, and I saw another table sharing a normal sized bowl amongst three people! There are other dishes including their bosom, and other Korean soup variations. All of them delicious!
Always a visit when traveling to LA. One of the best Kalgooksu and Bossam in town. Kimchi Kalgooksu flavor and noodles are unbelievable. It does come with clams, in case you don’t like seafood. Bossam is great mix of meat and fat ratio. Only reason for 4 stars is they forgot to put in my daughters chicken Kalgooksu and we had to wait after the rest of the family was done eating. Parking can get hairy. $3 valet. Limited parking available. Book a table now
The chicken kalguksu is perfect for cold winter days. Pro tip: add a side of dumplings in the soup! It soaks up all the good flavors. My only issues with the dish are with its saltiness and the dryness of the chicken. It can easily feed 2-3 people.Beef bulgogi looks very Western-style. I actually enjoyed it with the side salad! No wait on a Monday night. Def take advantage of the $3 valet parking.
the part is huge. be careful. I can do well with sharp, I ordered mold spice and was pleasant. probably medium ok. but spicy spicy I can sweat. many seafood in the bowl. the taste is good. now I have very good jjampong in another Korean restaurant in sf bay area and the taste was better. but I have never found another place that can do it as they do. so hangari definitiw a winner
Eat is delicious! there is always a line for din in, but it does not take long. it is worth waiting for about 10 minutes. the price is also appropriate. but the parking lot is a problem, they force them to use the valet, and calculate $3 for him. They can not even park themselves even though it is an open parking lot.
Everything tastes great! Highly recommend Hangari's famous bossam! The only problem is it comes with a tiny bowl of rice (maybe 2 tablespoonful only? Even with extra rice for $3, it's still another 2 spoonful of rice only. Service is just soso, but will return for the yummy bossam! Book a table now
