Unfortunately, the food quality has declined in recent visits, with many store-bought items being used. The use of country gravy mix in the loaded potato soup has been especially disappointing, as it used to be a favorite comfort dish made in-house.
The restaurant offers a variety of dishes made with seasonal fresh fruit and salads, but they are particularly known for their Kentucky Browns. It's a great place to visit with someone who enjoys their food as well. The homemade chicken salad is exceptional and the staff are friendly and passionate about food. The house tea is delicious and the bread is amazingly tasty. Despite missing their weekend hours, I am a happy repeat customer.
Well I have been in Mayfield 2.5 years now and just tried this place with my husband for lunch. Let me say that it was so good! The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Gary was our server and was so nice. If anyone is wanting to try something new try the quiche it was very fluffy and full of flavor. The Monte Cristo sandwich was to die for. We defiantly be making this a weekly lunch place.
I have been a fan of this restaurant for years. Gary and his team are fantastic. It's the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch where you can have a good conversation in a peaceful atmosphere that still feels intimate. The food is delicious, especially the KY Hotbrown and Gary's desserts. Definitely worth a visit.
