I walked in hoping for a great sushi experience and ordered a rainbow roll, a dragon roll, salmon and tuna nigiri, and an eel avocado roll. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The fish seemed to have been sliced with a meat slicer, as the portions were the smallest I’ve ever seen at a sushi restaurant. The rolls were also quite small, and they were even stingy with the rice. To make matters worse, it took 45 minutes to receive any part of my order, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. The waitress didn’t check on me or refill my water once during my visit. This was, without a doubt, the worst sushi experience I’ve ever had. Honestly, it felt like a straight-up robbery—perhaps the owner should...

Solid 3.5 stars. Good relaxing ambience. The sushi is good enough. It's not outstanding but due to limited options in the area, it definitely satisfies my craving. They are very basic, and not fancy really- at all. The spicy mayo is really spicy but I really like that. I usually get the eel avocado (they always ask if I want sesame seeds on it, lol. Usually the seeds are on the rice but they sprinkle them on top) and I sometimes get the Alaskan roll (the salmon is cooked). I usually love raw sushi rolls but for some reason I feel better getting cooked here. Personal preference. Hubby likes the Explosion roll. Probably best part is the convenience to my apt and the relaxing music.
I’m really happy I discovered this sushi restaurant; their rolls truly impressed me. Compared to other local places, the standard rolls here are larger and made with great precision. The fish is incredibly fresh and tasty. It’s become my new favorite place and my go-to for lunch. The service is excellent, and the staff is polite, kind, and professional. I do wish the sushi lunch special offered more roll options, but everything I've tried is delicious!
I apologize if this comes off as rude, but I need to share my experience after ordering from this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The chicken wasn't cooked properly and seemed to be inadequately prepared, with an unpleasant smell. Even the rice was undercooked. I also ordered spicy chicken rolls, but I couldn't eat them due to the odor from the chicken. Book a table now
My daughter called me to say she and her husband ad to leave Happy Kitchen last evening because a roach was crawling on the wall next to their table and there was a hair in her food.I am so disappointed that happened. We are lifelong residents of JH and frequent Happy Kitchen often! Not any more!!!!
This is usually a great restaurant. Today the brown rice they sent was rancid and not fit for consumption. I called them to let them know and they just made a lot of excuses, no apology and no offer to refund the item. Looks like they will continue serving that rice to their customers.
This is a nice little place, very good service. The Pork Gyoza were very good; the Philly Roll had cream cheese that was not quite cold enough (still good); the Spicy Tuna Crunch roll had the crunch on the inside, which is a bit odd. But I'd go there again.
Happy place… this is the accurate name for this place. Fresh sushi, friendly stuff, relaxing music, and only $5.50 for a glass of wine. My to go place for sushi! Book a table now
I was underwhelmed by the food quality. The shrimp had a squeeze of lemon that left them tasting quite sour. Furthermore, the eel was tough and served cold.
I only visit this restaurant for the sushi, and it’s truly amazing. I make it a point to come here at least once a week.
