Broad tap lineup, beers to go, and creative pizza options make Hardywood a must for your Richmond visit. Virginia Tech fans may recognize Hardywood as the brewers of the award-winning Hokie Lager, but don't stop there. I favor darker beers and tap choices in that range were pretty thin, but the savvy staff helped me find two winners from the lighter lineup. The mushroom pizza was amazing too, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating brings a fun beer garden atmosphere. I will be back!

Really fun place to meet friends or take the family out for the day/evening. So many beer choices and even wine for the adults, lemonade for the kids. Live music is always great there, disc golf, walking trails, food trucks. Ample parking though quite a walk for older people and small children to reach activities. Lots of seating and space for hanging out or for events.

We used to love Hardywood. No issues with quality of food or drink. The service is not only subpar, but the employees are rude and stuck up. It started getting this way sometime after Covid. Not sure what the issue is here, but it stinks because it used to be so awesome and positive all around. We’ve given enough chances and decided we will not be back. Such a bummer.

Location is fun. Atmosphere is good. My dark beer was good. Five hundred children throwing rocks, not so much. Yes, 500 children is an exaggeration but it felt like 500 children. I know it's a thing. But not for us. Moving on.
