I have a frustrating experience every time I order from this restaurant! It’s disappointing that I tried to place an order on August 6th, and at 9:00 PM—just an hour before they close at 10—I was told I couldn't place an order because they were already done for the night. Living in an upscale area, I want to support Black-owned businesses, but this company makes it incredibly difficult! You can voice your complaints and even have them cater events, but you still won't receive enough sauce with your orders. This is easily the worst Harold's I've ever visited. If you're looking to raise your blood pressure, this is the place for you. I ordered a 25-piece chicken, and it was extremely salty. I returned it to have it remade, but that was a waste of time—the new batch was just as salty, and not even ranch or mild sauce could salvage it. I'm truly disappointed and won’t be coming back. I had a terrible experience at Harold's Chicken. I ordered catfish with chicken, and I received a piece of catfish that was only the size of a nugget and three tiny pieces of chicken, each no larger than my pinky finger. The fries were greasy and tasted like the oil needed to be replaced. I won't be returning! This place deserves zero stars. As for parking, the lot was extremely empty.
My first visit I ordered gizzards, I asked that they not be cooked hard. Well they were very hard. Second visit I tried calling in my order, was put on hold, young lady never returned to take my order. So I had to go in, the cook took my order, because the same young lady who answered the phone, was in the restroom. Gizzards were better this time.
The wait times are lengthy, and the food is awful. Everything has a taste of old grease and lacks any seasoning. As for the customer service, I could go on, but it's just a letdown. Overall, I give the food a rating of 1 out of 5.
The chicken was decent, but I wasn't fond of the fact that it was fried alongside the fish, which gave it a fishy flavor. They should really keep them separate. On the bright side, the service was excellent. Food rating: 2/5.
