This is the third time we have given this pub a chance to improve their food, and I have to agree with the recent reviews. The roast dinner was terrible! The beef was hard, dry, and tough, and everything looked unappetizing. The excuse given both last time and this time was that the potatoes are not in season, but I can still make crispy potatoes at home and wish I had. The gravy was watery, the fries were bland, and the mint sauce was unpleasant. The staff were very friendly, but the blame lies with the chef. We first came here just after the first lockdown and the chips were homemade and crispy, and the pizza was delicious. It is a shame to see the quality go downhill. The beautiful locati...

Appalling food appalling service nothing really else to be said. Went in for Sunday lunch which was ordered, 2 roast lamb. Meat was tough and poor, veg consisted of very pale non crispy “roast spuds” very soggy over cooked broccoli and cabbage with a “mash “ with big lumps of swede and carrots. Gravy swimming in fat. The whole lot had clearly just been reheated. Plates weren’t cleared after ages, I took them to the bar , (we both left half of the mains and not because we couldn’t manage a hearty portion )to ask for sweet menus. My “torte” 6.95 evidently bought in and served with gone off cream which was exchanged. Coffees to ages to arrive. Pub traditional which was great but food was like a...
I am finally getting around to writing this review, even though our visit was back in April. We had a wonderful evening at this lovely country pub with a nice ambiance and friendly service. Our close friends and family highly recommend the Ham, Egg, and chips, which is also great value. I decided to try the Greek chicken wrap and was really impressed. I found it interesting to see on the receipt that Guinness was priced at £5. In London in April, the average price of a pint of Guinness was £5.31, while in Stoke it was £3.70.
Been going here for years when at the Gawsworth music events. The fish and chips were famous (and delicious! . However, we have been twice in July and been disappointed by the food. The fish was much smaller than before and the batter not as crispy chips a bit soggy with oil. So the second visit we opted for Gammon. Very oily meal chips soggy won’t be returning for a while now. Think there has been a change if chef since last summer? We compared the last meal to a weatherspoons not a compliment. Book a table now
After trying to find a pub for a drink and meal with our dog and being refused we visited the Harrington Arms. From the offset the staff were very welcoming to us and our dog. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was superb probably the best onion rings I've ever had. Would recommend this little gem of a pub.
Just moved into the area and what a great local to have on our doorstep. The staff are brilliant, friendly and provide great service. The food is amazingly good traditional pub food. Everything is vestry reasonable priced and they serve a great selection of real ales, although I don’t drink.
After taking a 6-mile walk around Gawsworth, a group of 10 of us stopped at the pub for a meal. We all ordered different dishes and each one was delicious. I must say, the beef Sunday roast was the best I've ever had. The staff who served us were very friendly.
Great little village pub, friendly staff, welcomes dogs, serves food, hot/cold drinks, pub garden. If you haven't been it's worth a visit Book a table now
Chicken bacon sandwich was dry didn't contain cheese, as stated on the menu. Staff helpful and attentive but let down by the food.
We took over the Pub on 31 August and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was a treat and enjoyed by all.
