Harry Ramsden's Eastbourne

We have actually had enough of the restaurant in Eastbourne and, clearly so have others. The food delivered by Deliveroo was cold, pale as opposed to crispy and golden, and tasteless. The quality of fish was poor, with too much fatty batter and chips, not...chunky, but skinny and fatty too, with no colour. I went into restaurant and they would not permit the food to be refunded; I went to Deliveroo, and they told me to go back to restaurant. The staff could not decide who’s responsible for this mistake! I don’t think ‘ Harry ‘ if he knew of this franchise, would ever have wanted his product to be sold in this way, so shoddily, by people serving who don’t know good quality fish and chips. Nev...

had cod n chips, ordered the regular and drinks. the chips were the fashionable tasteless, dry, white, barely boiled sorts like many fish n chip shops serve on and the fish was essentially a small thin piece of cadry that was wrapped in overcooked teigs. it presumably to dress that there is not much fish in the portion. service poor, no visit at the table to ask if everything is in order and no thanks at the exit. £15 per serving represented very bad value and will not go back.

very quiet on a Tuesday early evening. the complete menu was not available, but the waitress explained possible alternatives. the food was excellent and the service was as fast as possible as it had to be cooked. very pleased.

if they like chips that taste as they were cooked last week, then this is the place for them. otherwise there is a very big miss.
