I usually go here for my birthday - it's definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Cairns - best shared amongst friends. My absolute favourites include:- the Hokkaido style scallops, with burnt butter miso sauce, nasu dengaku, which is miso glazed roasted eggplant, - chewy crumbed octopus pieces, - natto (fermented soy beans) omelette, - agedashi tofu which is soft tofu rolled in potato starch and fried, then added to dashi broth and topped with shaved dried fish. -The salmon garlic fried rice is very popular and their house miso, which seems to vary, puts all other miso in Cairns to shame - sometimes there are salmon pieces, sometimes small chunks of soft daikon or other root vegetabl...
We are foodies living in magnificent Cairns. We have experienced cuisines from the world over during our travels. This restaurant has really great Japanese food.Service was prompt and obliging especially when my wife Cynthia (the most amazing cook in my view) kept asking for more wasabi!!BYO so that meant we could take our special and favourite wines. Loved all the dishes we ordered. The misu soup was probably the best I have had.Will definitely be going back. This taste and value has truly raised the bar for other Japanese restaurants in Cairns and Australia wide.Go there and have a great meal.
went with friends on saturday night. Food was excellent. it was great to have some Japanese cuisine besides sushi rolls etc. Lots of choice. Even scallops were on the menu which were very nice. You can order a bit at a time or a whole lot at once. It pays to order a heap of starters at once as there is only 4 or 5 pieces on each plate. The mains are more substantial... main meal size that you can have by yourself with some rice. Also the plum wine is very nice!!!!
A typical small Japanese restaurant that has a selection of lunch specials from $18 that includes sushi, sashimi, tempura And miso soup. You can add the main of the day if you have room... A small creme brûlée is also served on espresso cup to finish in style. I visit this restaurant at least once a month for lunch. Just fresh, genuine and delicious.

We had a fantastic meal there last night. We ordered gyoza, sushi, tempura, tofu, salmon with garlic fried rice.......OMG... all was the best. This is a little family run quiet Japanese restaurant. It is Licenced or you can bring your own. They also do very good and cheap lunch time deals.
I visit this place myself but staff are very friendly and attentive.I didn't feel alone .Foods are cook with love !!That's why keep customers were coming in when I was dining here on freezing Tuesday night.This restaurant makes me homesick .I'll visit again when I get next chance !!
My 5yo declared that he loves Japanese food after our meal (his first time to a Japanese resturant). They were well equipped for kids with highchair and special kids chopsticks, bowls and cups. We tried a variety of dishes and were happy with all of them.
The quality of the food is well above average. Seafood and other specials are always on offer. The staff is lovely. Definitely worth trying if you like Japanese food.
