This isn 't Leigh On Sea, Its Leigh Lancashire. I 'm usually one to sing their praises, but not today. Going downhill, as I am a bigger bloke, i.e.: obese, pleasantly plump etc whatever you prefer to make you feel better about being overweight, when I can afford it, treat myself to the Unlimited breakfast, which as I type, is still listed on their respective websites etc. Upon arrival, the usual staff weren 't there, but one lady was especially unhappy looking, not the usual greeting I 'd been known to expect, seemed extremely disinterested, no doubt demoralised by the changes at Harvester. So after the 'whatever ' attitude, I went to my usual preferred table, and a lady with glasses waited...
We decided to go for lunch and we wish hadn’t. The service was very poor. For a starter we ordered chicken wings to share there was more sauce than chicken and we were not even given side plates for the bones. The sauce was cold over the hot chicken and far too sweet. For our mains I ordered a mixed grill and the gammon and rump steak was so tough I struggled to cut through it with a knife. My wife ordered a Christmas dinner and was never offered the option of turkey and the chicken that came with the meal had been done on a grill and was extremely dry and tasteless. Absolute rubbish service, had a rare opportunity to spend some time with one of my daughter's, she's 9, while my other daughter was at a party. Had to po k her up at 2, stepped in at 12;15, left at 1;30 only having a starter, some limp salad snd a drink, at this time we were still 3rd in lone dor our main! Their excuse was, we had a starter? Nachos and a garlic bread , needless to say we had to leave, they still expected me to pay! As if! Daughter's hungry and I'm running late! That and my time with mu daughter was ruined.... 1 hour 45 mins is ample time to be served, ridiculous service for mediocre food.
Not been here for a few months and understand why we stopped going. Breakfast was overdone, they laced the mushrooms and tomato with lots of pepper, unlimited toast has gone and now £1 extra per toast, paid for unlimited tea and had to go up to bar to get it replaced due to staff was over run. The place is starting to look tired, chairs are starting to fall apart and the outside is looking a mess. Looks like we won't be going back im afraid to say where we used to be a regular last year.

We often come to Harvester Atherleigh and always usually have a good experience, today was no exception and an opportunity to sample this year’s festive menu. Today was made even better by the attentive and genuine service from Beth. Beth made sure everything was perfect without being intrusive, she was knowledgeable and really made an effort with meaningful conversation whilst checking in with us. Thanks Beth.
Visited The Harvester this evening and had Beth.C serve us. She has been absolutely amazing!! She has provided an absolutely brilliant service, been extremely accommodating and even took the time to go things with our children when they were indecisive. Thank you Food arrived on time and was very good.
We were extremely satisfied with both the food and service at the restaurant. Oliver, our server, was delightful and very pleasant. We didn't feel rushed, but we also didn't have to wait long to be served.
Excellent service by Oliver and food for a harvester was very good. We would return if we were in the area, no problem at all. The outside of the building and some tables/chair could do with a little TLC.
