Hearth and Candle was a hit and miss on our recent visit. Five stars for atmosphere and service, 2-5 stars for food and drinks, 1 star for value. The atmosphere is dark and cozy with 4 or 5 separate dining rooms. Our waitperson was very friendly, attentive and offered recommendations (also honest with her likes and dislikes). For drinks we had wine, martinis, coffee drinks and a hot-toddy. We started with the pork belly as an appetizer, it was lean with a crispy rim. Side salads came with Maple Vinaigrette. Dinner included braised short ribs with purple mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The ribs were tasty, sprouts were crispy but only 4 were served. Order of Venison bolognese was good....
