I travel a fair amount for work so I’m always looking for a gem or two and Heids is just that. From the outside you wouldn’t give it a second glance but step inside and WOW. It’s big and has an outside and inside...and smells divine. Why, because these people cook meat, and they cook it well. I’ve been three times now and it’s never been anything but excellent. Great selection of steaks but also stuff for those who don’t like steaks you fools. This last visit I ordered the tomahawk off menu but still it was in the fridge and I was not disappointed. We found Heids by looking on TripAdvisor So it does work if you are a business. We entered and quickly realised it was almost full! However we were found a table quickly. The menu was well presented, and we quickly chose the US Fillet. Worth...every cent. All Euros. Krystin looked after us very well and even though we asked for a medium and medium well with all the trimmings, peppercorn sauce and steak fries and veg, they arrived promptly. First cut.... like cutting butter with a warm knife. Every cut... just smooth... every bite... appealed to all tastebuds... not an oz of fat. Just the best steak we have ever eaten. The reviews really set this place up. It wasn't the best steak I've ever had for sure but it was enjoyable enough with delicious gravy and fries to go with it. Be sure to reserve a table as it's very busy! I read that you...often need week in advance to secure a spot but I got a table for on the same day...perhaps it's a bit less occupied because of COVID although it was still pretty full! No one picked up the phone or replied to my email so I ended up going in person to make a booking for later the same evening
Clearly where lots of clued up locals like to come and eat so well worth booking ahead. Food was excellent, slightly more expensive than other places but worth it; the steaks inc. tuna were cooked exactly as ordered and the sides were delicious. Ask about...sauces as they aren’t all on the menu. Get your google translate app ready too as there are only German menus

This place is pretty packed with people during dinner. It was full when we arrived around Best to make a reservation. We ordered a rib and the ravioli. Awesome restaurant where they have a good selection of steaks and pizzas. It’s probably the only place in Heidelberg where I found good pizzas. You need to book a week in advance
