We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for many years. Usually, the food and service are top-notch every other visit, which is about once every 4-6 weeks. However, our recent experience on a Saturday was disappointing. The service was not up to par, which was unusual for us. The hostess also served as our waitress, but after receiving our drinks and food, no one checked on us throughout our meal in the bar area, despite there being few other diners. As a result, my husband had to request the bill upfront. We plan to give this establishment one more chance, as we have enjoyed dining here in the past. Hopefully, the service will improve next time. We ordered a family sized meal that included salad, catfish, shrimp, french fries and hush puppies. Tons for food for a reasonable price. Our waitress was new but very nice and checked on us often. She was confused on the sides which they charged us for extra sides... I explained to the person checking us out which I believe was the manager but they just said they would talk to her. They did not remove the extra charge. I normally would have pushed the point but we had our grandson with us so I just paid it. Anyway, the food was really good and the waitress was good so I kept it at 4 stars. The manager/owner gets 1 star.
