$19 for a basic sub. Updated the owner asked me to update this review saying it's 16.99, which yes but it was essentially $19 with tax. It did come with chips/drink/side salad, though I personally would rather the sub just be cheaper without those extras. Adding two stars cause I feel bad, as we have been coming here (or to the prior iteration of this spot) for 25+ years, and I get he's trying to do his thing as a relatively new owner. Also they're friendly in person, never had an issue there and I've been there several times. A few months ago, I left a very negative review for Heritage Deli. Since then, the deli has new ownership, and since it’s just around the corner, I decided to give it another try. I’m happy to say that the food was excellent, the menu is competitively priced, and the service along with the new owner is incredibly friendly. The portions are generous, the store is clean and bright—truly outstanding. Plus, they serve probably the best cole slaw I’ve ever tasted! I’m thrilled to have such a fantastic local deli like Heritage Deli back in the neighborhood!
Everything is consistently good, and I have no complaints about the food. My only concern is the wait time. They typically only have one person on duty to take and prepare the orders. If you're third in line, it can take as long as half an hour to get your meal. I've noticed many people leaving in frustration. I'm not sure what the staffing problem is.
I recently dropped by Heritage Deli for a breakfast sandwich and was immediately drawn in by the Namath jersey on the wall. The owner was welcoming, the sandwich was delicious, and I was excited to find out they also make empanadas and have a food truck. Thanks for the experience—finding a great deli like this is rare. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I always enjoy a great sandwich here, and the staff is very friendly. It’s always busy, which is a testament to how good the food is. I don’t think it’s as pricey as some reviews suggest; they tend to forget that the meals come with a drink and chips. Inflation isn’t their fault. The breakfast empanadas are fantastic!
The food here is incredible, and the staff is exceptionally friendly! I make the trek from Port Jeff just for the delicious meals! The chopped cheese is one of my favorites, and their empanadas and deli sandwiches are absolutely amazing! If you haven't visited yet, I highly recommend it—you’re really missing out!

Their Hero sandwiches are delicious! I’m always looking for a good hero place in Suffolk county, this is one I’ll definitely visit again, I can’t wait to try their other items too! The Turkey club sandwich is the main one I recommend!

Was recommended to go try their empanadas. Was not disappointed was awesome. Having a Philly cheesesteak sandwich was great also, but their empanadas are top rank. If in Smithtown go find these empanadas.
