Another point to mention is that the parking area has become somewhat smaller, as some spots are now reserved for cabins, which is understandable. However, there is an honest parking fee of £4 if you're just visiting the café or heading to Shepherd's Crag. For climbers, this fee can be shared among the group. In the past, parking used to be free, but it was required to stop into the café after your ascent. Unfortunately, too many people failed to do this over the years, and the parking spots are on private land. Therefore, I think £4 per car per day is quite reasonable.
