"Went here for our anniversary after a friend who knows Vienna really well recommended it. Fantastic food and service. They really enjoy talking to you about the menu and your wine options. If it were cheaper, would go all the time!"

We had to give it a try as it is a member of JRE, the one-day-to-be-Michelin hopefuls. Very close to notorious Grinzing restaurant area. Wine list is fine, especially regarding Austrian wines, though the unusual presentation is disturbing - listing by vintage rather than producer. Different for...

This place is what every restaurant should aim for: excellent food, great service and a cozy atmosphere. Beware, their wine selection is fabulous...and the team knows their wines very well, if in doubt just ask for a recommendation. Things to try: beef tartar for the meat lovers and game (if available) and for vegetarians: the risotto (apparently it changes according to seasonal products!) we had the asparagus risotto and it was to die for. Loved it!

We've been eating at wonderful restaurants, and Hill Restaurant is certainly one of them. Excellent service, beautiful plating and good size portions. Lovely outdoor seating area with a unique kiwi canopy above you. But it cost €20 ea h way to get in and out of the city. Might be better spent on food and wine.
