We visited Hindsight BBQ on a Saturday night for a family member's send-off. Before placing our order, we had a few questions to better understand the menu. We decided on brisket with mashed potatoes and gravy, pork belly with ribs, mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw, along with an order of smoked sausage, spinach and cheese, a few sodas, and brisket empanadas.
We placed our order at the counter and sat in the back to wait for our food. Unfortunately, everything arrived on one platter, which was inconvenient. One member of our party doesn't eat pork and had to sift through it to enjoy the brisket. The empanadas were soggy, and the meat inside didn’t resemble the brisket on the plate;...
The location is amazing, featuring plenty of lovely shaded outdoor seating, along with the option to dine indoors. The staff were all very friendly. However, the major downside is the cost; the prices are exorbitant. The meals don’t come with sides, so for three entrees, three sides, and three beers plus gratuity, my bill totaled around $120. Our burnt ends were served in a single tray, which would have been fine if everyone had their own, but it turned out to be quite inconvenient. I was also overcharged for drinks; two $10 beers and a $10 frozen drink ended up costing over $40. Additionally, two small portions of burnt ends, a pulled pork sandwich, one side of fries, and two sides of coles...
Amazing place for BBQ. Easily the best BBQ you can get in Waterbury. After one look and taste you can tell just how much effort the cooks put into their food. Hats off to the kitchen here. The service is always welcoming and the atmosphere is great either inside or outside. The Alabama Wings are a solid go to choice.The only downside is the tight seating inside if you have a party larger than 4 people. Luckily the outside seating is a nice comfortable place to have lunch or dinner as an alternative.Parking: Dirt/Gravel lot right next to restaurant. No parking lines but plenty of space.
The food was fantastic and brought back memories of the barbecue I enjoyed in the South. While BBQ tends to be on the pricier side, the prices here are quite reasonable. There's a cozy little outdoor bar with plenty of picnic tables, although you still need to place your order inside. They also have an excellent selection of beers. My favorite side dish was the potato salad.

The only difficulty I had was finding the restaurant, since the busy I-84 and CT-8 highways can be tricky to navigate. It’s easy to miss your exit if you’re driving too fast. Although the prices are a bit steep, the barbecue is totally worth it! That said, I wish the menu offered a bit more variety. I’ll definitely be coming back. P.S. Please bring back the Duck Fat Fries!
We ordered a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. Amazing. Flavor was incredible (as I would expect from them), picked it up this morning (along with a pint of their gravy and an apple pie), kept it warm in my oven for about an hour before guests showed up. Stayed moist, tasted great. Will def be ordering again next year!
WOW!!! The BEST BBQ I've had in years. Me and my lovely wife went for the first time and were not disappointed. Great people, great food. And best of all, close to the house. We will definitely become regulars.Parking: Ample parking.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of options for the kids.
I really appreciated the helpful responses when I called to ask about gluten-free and celiac-friendly options. The chef personally walked me through the entire menu, clearly explaining what was safe to eat and taking my concerns very seriously. The food was outstanding!
