I thought that was a total tourist trap and was pleasantly surprised. At the time there was a down-to-earth restaurant that was roped off in front of the small building next to the river, but we just went to the walk-up counter because we were in a hurry. Choose two bratwurst sandwiches and probably could have eaten two more because they were so good. They were perfectly prepared with two small sausages, sauerkraut and mustard in a slightly crispy bungalow. Nothing scattering earth, just well done and just what you want, and if I lived here, I'd probably catch it all the time.

Perhaps the oldest restaurant in the world. Located on the banks of the Danube on the picturesque old bridge, this kitchen claims to be the oldest restaurant in the world. The restaurant is quite famous and is therefore often quite busy so that the visit during peak hours can see queues. As the name says, the restaurant specialises in sausage.

The sausages cooked in the fire oven were so delicious and the warm soup tasted healthy. The herb flavored bread was also very tasty. All the food and friendly service here made me feel good. I will definitely visit this place again.

Every time we go through or around Regensburg we visit this historic place for their great sausages! Now they sell their beer “to-go” in bottles
