We went here because of the many good reviews. On the outside it looks a bit like an abandoned building, but once you get through that into the restaurant part, you enter an overwhelming amount of postures and semi-art. This restaurant walks the tiny line between a total mess and a trumpery art museum. Personally I think it's a pity that there was not really a recurrent theme in the overall collection.What we liked the most was that every visitor/group of visitors could choose out a cosy place for their own. We were visiting family near Köln, Germany and they took us to this restaurant that is a cross between a museum, private dining, and general restaurant. It was our first time in this area of Germany and I hope it's not our last! The collections are amazing and while waiting for our food we took a tour through old toys, figure heads, hanging lamps, ship models and much, much more. Even if the food had been disappointing, I would still recommend this place as a unique experience--but--the food far exceeded even the memorabilia and our expectations! This place must be seen. Ambience, food and service are the absolute hammer. It's true. From beginning to end. In this restaurant you do not come around while waiting for food, stand up and watch all lovingly decorated details. There are 9 different prepared rooms. From the fireplace room to the spacious room. You must have seen everything. But the most important thing is, of course, food. Wow, excellent, amazing, surreal. What a place, so much to see its so different. Is it a Resteraunt, bar, museum junk shop or a building left in a time warp?Then the food arrives and you realise you are in a great Resteraunt. We've been customer with the MEisen family since they opened long years ago. The food is always tasty, freshly prepared. Very good venue for parties, celebrations, christmas parties etc. Also very nice for some nice hours with your partner in an cosy environment.
The ferry house is simply incomparable! It is a huge museum where you constantly discover something new and invite you to walk around and watch everything. The food is almost a side thing. During my visits I found that the cook understands his craft!
We loved this place as its quirky and fun. The best steak I have ever had and huge portions. I ordered the smallest rump steak but it was easily enough for me. Menu in English if you are unable to speak German and lovely staff too.

Recommended for a group of friends. Amazing food and excellent service. Waitress was lovely and spoke good English. The place is truely unique as it ia a museum in itself.
