my man and I went to the afternoon. we were greeted nicely and our moms were taken. unfortunately this was the only good service we received. the coffee was not particularly hot and the pot did not drip badly on the table cloth. the scenes had been heated more than once, so were extremely crusty. we ate one, but not the second I actually spent for the birds when I came home. the texture of the silver was very dense, not pleasant. after several attempts to win someone's attention, we got another pot coffee, but the waitress pulled so fast without leaving us more milk, we had to wait again. Lovely afternoon tea and as it was on offer it was good value for money. However, there was a service charge added to the bill of £2.95 which isn't made obvious. I didn't challenge it due to the offer and it being nice food but if I'd paid full price I would have questioned it. Nice place, nice food I will more than likely be back. Website could be updated also as the afternoon tea's are very different.
Food was superb again. Last time we visited the 2 meals for two for £39.50 was automatically applied. It wasn’t this time and after being ignored for half an hour when attempting to get the bill we couldn’t be bothered to argue. No drinks menu, so we just guessed at what we wanted. Really poor. So disappointing after an amazing visit in January.
My mother, daughter (9), and I recently visited Horton Grange for afternoon tea. We were seated in a lovely room with ample space to move around. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The staff happily provided extra tea for my daughter, and we shared two afternoon teas between the three of us.

Nice to try somewhere different. Pleasant courteous service, Sunday lunch was very traditional , not much imagination but perfectly adequate. The general ambience of the hotel was pleasant if a little tired and in need of some TLC. We may return to check out the evening menu some time in the future.
First time for afternoon tea at Horton Grange to celebrate our Mums 88th Birthday. Staff and service were both brilliant and the quality of the food was first class and extremely good value. Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon and will be visiting again very soon.
