Hostal Empuries was the first hotel I visited during my press trip with Catalan Adventures. The hotel (as well as the location) is truly beautiful and the reception staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is top-notch and offers a varied selection so there is something to suit anyone 's tastes. As for dinner, I opted for 'Gambas de Cap de Creus a la plancha ' which was phenomenally prepared and I commend the chef for it. Restaurant servers were generally superb, the standard was set by Alejandro and Ivana in terms of their politeness and commitment to high customer service; Rolando could learn from their example so as to create a warmer atmosphere and avoid clients feeling tense. És un lloc molt bonic, cuiden tots els detalls. Ben decorat i serè. Espais tranquils i espaiosos. Accepten gossos, pel que hi vam anar amb la nostra gossa. Les habitacions estan bé. En el nostre cas teníem una terrasseta amb vistes al jardí de l’hostal. Al vespre vam fer el menú degustació i al acabar vam fer un toc a la terrassa, amb vistes al mar. Hi ha caminets amb miradors just davant de l’hostal, molt agradables per fer un tomb. El personal atent i amable, hi vam estar molt a gust. Una experiència recomanable!
To book a table you can't do it over the phone only by email and only the maitre is allowed to give any info. Since we didn't get an answer we went by anyways, unless you are a guest to the gmhorel you can only go to the chiringuito where everything is served in plastic cups... although the terrace was basically empty it was all reserved for guests or for them to prepare for lunch (it was 11.30) and they open at 1.30pm. So rude and snotty. Waited around they kept telling us to wait. Passing us from one person to the next. Tried to get some waters at the cafe next door, but even though there were no cafe seats they didn’t want to sell us 4 waters to go. They finally allowed us to stay and drink them standing up by the counter. If you go to the ruins bring food and water or eat first. Avoid this place. I almost booked this hotel! Close call.

El Hostal Empuries es un lugar precioso, con habitaciones cómodas, creadas con sobriedad y buen gusto, con un restaurante muy rico y un servicio en general impecable. Destaco el trato recibido por Maria del equipo de recepción, que nos asistió en todos los preparativos previos a la estancia y salió de su paso para que tuviésemos una experiencia de 10.
Senzillament espectacular, el lloc de 10, el personal de 15, recepció, cambrers/es, neteja, grans professionals, van per feina sent amables i eficients, eficiència es igual a eficàcia professionalitzat, lloc per a repetir, he viatjat molt i he trobat poques vegades aquest nivell a aquest preu.
El Hostal Empúries combina tradición y modernidad en un emplazamiento de gran belleza, frente a la Playa de Portitxol, junto a las ruinas de Ampúrias. Servicio impecable, gastronomía de calidad y habitación amplia y bien equipada.
Vergonzosa la atención en terraza/restaurante; media hora esperando para ser atendida. He tenido que levantarme 4 veces para pedir que me tomen nota. De los peores servicios que he visto
