Visited with familly. Nice and very charming, rustic place. Greeting was kind. We were 4 adults and a kid. My mother in law asked for a place to put her hand bag, waiter just said u can put it anywhere u want. Choose a complete menue with very nice wine, one of which Cote Rôtie, La Landonne. In the beginning service was nice, but midway through service most of waiters abandoned us, had to serve wine/water our selves, which is not deserving of a stared restaurant. Sommelier did not even proposed to decant the wine which was from 1994, not acceptable!!!!!!!! Served wine right away, didn't even let in breathe, the wine which over EUR 500!!!!!!! If oozing charm is your need... rthan this place , in its setting is hard to beat. It's a toss weather its closer to Marseilles or Toulon, but it certainly is right on the mark for exploring the delights of Sanary Sur Mer, cassis and Bandol... For this visit we left Marseilles alone. Our room is a pleasant mix of classic & contemporary furnishings, terracotta floors and a oh-so comfy bed, neutral colours with a view over the beautiful vinyards and pool. I just had a very long lunch at Berard restaurant and must say I was rather disappointed by the combination of flavours and the service. The air con was not sufficient either to equally cool down the whole room. And their comfortable chairs should be upholstered with breathable fabric and not plastic! The restaurant was half empty so not busy at all and yet we had to wait for an hour to get our first starters! Then I filled myself with bread in between meals as they would be served at so long intervals. The waiters were quite active and efficient though. All the ingredients were interesting however they were not paired in a way that they would reveal their flavours and make a refined result....
Yes, one has to expect it but the food was prepared deliciously and meticulously. Up to any expectations. It was a fusion of traditional with experimental modern elements. Quite a pleasure with well chosen local wines.
